about ellen ashton...

I'm a destination and local wedding photographer, who is addicted to trying new things and photographing real and raw moments for couples who desire unique, chic and timeless photographs. I see pictures as if they are true moments that are frozen in time and precious memories to last a lifetime.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ELLEN

  • I am a minimalist. We live in a 1280 square foot, 1940’s home with a big back yard and a breathtaking flower garden. We love sipping on a hot beverage while watching our son and yokie chase each other in the yard, and hearing the pitter patter of our son crawl on the original hardwood floors in our home.

  • Family is so important to me

  • Sometimes I like to pretend like Joanna Gains and I are friends and she asks me for design ideas (hahahahah, just kidding!). But, really, I very must enjoy home projects and decor. It brings me a lot of joy!

  • I adore long walks in historical neighborhoods. I LOVE seeing all the old homes.

  • Massages are my guilty pleasure

  • Rainy Days are my favorite

  • Architecture inspires me

Aside from being a wedding photographer and entrepreneur, I very much enjoy spending time with my little family, laughing heartily, trying new coffee shops, purchasing essential oils, daydreaming about what adventure is next and capturing beautiful, one of a kind moments for my clients.

I am based just outside of Dallas, TX and living life to the fullest with my college sweetheart of a husband and our smiley son and attitude packed, yet ever so sweet yorkie, Mack.

I’ve been a wedding photographer since 2013 and feel so blessed to have the best clients in the world! It’s been a joy to travel across the country to capture some of their most treasured moments and memories. It’s not uncommon to see me strolling around the airport with my camera bag in tow, a Starbucks in my hand and chatting to a total strangers. In fact, I have met several of my brides this way! I adore that my job allows my free spirit to roam and do what I love most, which is connecting with people and telling couples love stories via my camera.
